Ring reviewer test guide

This page is for Ring internal reviewers validating Rapid Cortex account access, OAuth linking, and live-stream behavior in production. For support during validation, contact support@rapidcortex.us (target response within 4 business hours).

1) How a Ring reviewer can create an account

  1. Go to https://www.rapidcortex.us.
  2. Click Open app or go directly to https://www.rapidcortex.us/login.
  3. Email support@rapidcortex.us to request a reviewer test account. We provision a supervisor-role user under test-agency within 24 hours and send credentials by email.
  4. Sign in with the provided email and temporary password.
  5. You will be prompted to set a new password on first login.
  6. After sign-in, open the Media area from the left navigation to access Ring workflows.

Rapid Cortex is a B2B public-safety platform; accounts are administrator-provisioned and public self-signup is not enabled.

2) How a Ring reviewer can perform account linking

  1. Sign in at https://www.rapidcortex.us/login.
  2. Navigate to a jurisdiction dashboard (example: /test-agency/dashboard).
  3. Click Media in the left navigation.
  4. In Live Camera, select the Ring tab.
  5. Click Connect Ring Account.
  6. You are redirected to Ring OAuth.
  7. Sign in with Ring credentials.
  8. Review requested permissions and authorize.
  9. You are redirected back to Rapid Cortex.
  10. Your cameras appear in View Available Ring Cameras.

OAuth redirect URI: https://api.rapidcortex.us/api/integrations/ring/callback

To disconnect, revoke Rapid Cortex from Ring linked accounts in the Ring app.

3) End-to-end test flow for Ring reviewers

Prerequisites

  • Reviewer account provisioned by Rapid Cortex support.
  • An active Ring account with at least one online Ring camera.
  • Ring account in good standing for OAuth authorization.

Rapid Cortex provides the app account only; reviewers use their own Ring account and camera for OAuth and live stream validation.

  1. Sign in to Rapid Cortex.
  2. Open Media from the left navigation.
  3. Select the Ring tab in Live Camera.
  4. Click Connect Ring Account.
  5. Complete Ring OAuth authorization.
  6. Confirm cameras populate in the device list.
  7. Create a test incident with New Incident.
  8. Select the incident in Incident Context.
  9. Select a camera and confirm live stream starts.
  10. Close the incident and confirm stream auto-terminates.

Expected outcomes

  • OAuth completes and returns to Rapid Cortex.
  • Camera list displays devices from the linked Ring account.
  • Live stream launches only with active incident context.
  • No Ring video is recorded or retained by Rapid Cortex.
  • Revoking authorization in Ring disconnects access.
